What does God say about money in Bible?
Philippians 4:19: And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Proverbs 10:22: The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. 2 Corinthians 9:8: And God will generously provide all you need.
2 Corinthians 9:8 reveals God's purpose for surplus. It says, "And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others." (NLT) According to this passage, God doesn't just provide for what we need, which is really amazing.

Biblical teachings on money emphasize our need to steward it wisely and never let it become more important than it is. We are encouraged to love God and people, never money. Money should be used as a tool to help the less fortunate and to spread the message of Jesus to people who haven't heard.
Jesus told his followers to give to everyone who asks (Luke 6:30), to give to those who can't repay (Luke 14:13 – 14) and to freely give what we have freely received (Matthew 10:8). Paul established the principle that what we reap is a reflection of what we sow (2 Corinthians 9:6).
While tithing 10% of your income is biblical, that doesn't mean you have to be a Christian to tithe. It also doesn't mean you're a bad Christian if you don't tithe.

God Wants To Be Honored

Proverbs 21:20 says, “A wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets.” Saving is making provision for tomorrow. The most effective way to save is to do it every time you receive income.
What did Solomon say about money?
It's Proverbs 21:20, “Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man's dwelling, but a foolish man devours it.” That means the wise person saves. The only way to achieve financial freedom is to live on less than you earn and to do it for a very long time.
One of God's purposes for wealth is to build a relationship with us. How God guides you to use your money will reflect who He created you to be. In other words, wealth is a way to participate in the creative process with God. 1 Corinthians 3:9 (ESV) says, “For we are God's fellow workers.

God wants you to be financially free so you can put Him first in your life and be sensitive to His voice, ready to follow Him whenever -- and wherever -- He leads.
What the Bible says about borrowing: Exodus 22:14 - If anything is borrowed, it should be paid back. If what is borrowed is lost or injured, full restitution must be made. Ps 37:21 - The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives.
As a result, you can never be under a curse, you can never rob God because there is no longer a requirement or a necessity to pay a tithe. God cannot accept the payment of tithes because of what Jesus has done. But God will accept you GIVING A TITHE. He will not punish you if you do not give a tithe.
The Bible clearly illustrates how Christians are to respond to the poor and hopeless. Jesus says, “Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you,” in Matthew 5:42, and in James it says, “Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.
And finally, a verse that might make you think the only proper response is to lend money to a family member, in particular, is 1 Timothy 5:8, which reads, “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”
Yet, it's simply inaccurate (and inappropriate) to say Jesus spoke more about finances than anything else. It's just not true. If anything, he spoke more about the kingdom of God than other topics.
Of course, both the materially poor and the rich are equally in need of a Savior – and Jesus is deeply concerned that both hear and respond to the good news of his kingdom.

1 Timothy 6:10
In the book of 1 Timothy, we're reminded that “the love of money is the root of all kinds of evils.” When you crave money—and all the things money can buy—above all else, you're not putting your faith in God. These things don't draw you closer to God, rather they pull you away from him.

God does want each of us to be rich in every possible way -- health, love, and peace of mind, as well as material possessions. God wants this, however, not just for our own sake, but for the sake of all humankind.
