What does God say about struggling financially?
Matthew 6:33
“Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.” “But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”
2 Corinthians 8:9 (NIV)
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.”
3) God Uses Financial Hardships to Increase Our Faith
We have so many material goods available to us, so many comforts and distractions to preoccupy us that staying faithful and true to God and our calling is becoming more difficult. God will use any opportunity to grow and keep your faith and trust in Him.
You are the God who provides all my needs according to your riches in Glory. I come to You as I am struggling financially, asking for your provision. Remove my fear, doubt, and unbelief. Fill me with Your peace and confidence in the promise of your care for me in time of need.
Proverbs 11:25: “Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.” Proverbs 19:17: “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” Proverbs 22:9: “The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.”

God Will Take Care of You and Your Finances
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need (Matthew 6:31-33).
Remember, God loves us and has given us these principles for our benefit. Read the first portion of Romans 13:8 from several different translations: “Owe no man anything” (KJV). “Let no debt remain outstanding” (NIV). “Don't run up debts” (MSG).
I ask that You bless me with a financial breakthrough, so that I may be able to give generously, save wisely, and live prosperously. Amen.” "Father God, thank You for all the good things I have in my life and all the blessings You have given me. I pray to You today to ask for a financial miracle.
How do I pray to God about financial problems?
Lord, please provide me with the means to meet my financial obligations and bring peace to my troubled heart. I pray for the strength and wisdom to find a way out of this situation. Grant me the courage to face my financial challenges and the determination to work towards a solution.
God wants you to be financially free so you can put Him first in your life and be sensitive to His voice, ready to follow Him whenever -- and wherever -- He leads.
"Dear God, I pray for abundance and financial prosperity in my life. Please bless me with the resources and opportunities to achieve my financial goals and provide for myself and my loved ones."
What the Bible says about borrowing: Exodus 22:14 - If anything is borrowed, it should be paid back. If what is borrowed is lost or injured, full restitution must be made. Ps 37:21 - The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives.
Philippians 4:19: And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Proverbs 10:22: The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. 2 Corinthians 9:8: And God will generously provide all you need.
The Bible clearly illustrates how Christians are to respond to the poor and hopeless. Jesus says, “Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you,” in Matthew 5:42, and in James it says, “Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.
Jesus told his followers to give to everyone who asks (Luke 6:30), to give to those who can't repay (Luke 14:13 – 14) and to freely give what we have freely received (Matthew 10:8). Paul established the principle that what we reap is a reflection of what we sow (2 Corinthians 9:6).
- We tithe. “'Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. ...
- We provide for specific needs. ...
- We get out of debt and stay out of debt. ...
- We live contently. ...
- We don't fret about finances.
Obedience is the key to receiving from God. If we'll learn to hear God's voice and obey Him in the area of our personal finances, it will open the door to further blessings in our own lives and will pave the way for Him to use us in greater ways to bless mankind.
Absolutely nowhere in the scriptures are we advised or commanded to use debt to accomplish God-given economic goals. On the contrary, the Bible has many warnings against the use of debt.
Does God want us to be rich in money?
While God does not expect us to live on nothing, he does require us to maximise our resources for the building of God's kingdom. Those fortunate enough to be born into affluence have a responsibility to use their wealth to provide for those who don't have enough.
Sin is similar to debt precisely in that one - for a while - lives beyond one's (moral or financial) entitlement. Only he will have to pay that debt someday. Debt is also similar to sin in the way it is creepingly dangerous.
Psalm 37:21 says, “The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives.” So debt in itself is not sinful, but the motivations of taking on debt can be sinful. The Bible encourages us to be debt-free and to owe nothing to anyone except to love one another.
Summary: Borrowing and lending are both approved practices in the Bible as long as interest rates are reasonable, no interest is imposed upon the poor and the money is paid back in a responsible and timely fashion. If someone cannot fulfill these principles, it would be sinful to borrow.
Lord God, I know you will provide for my family. I am claiming this financial miracle, Lord. Please give us a chance to have a supernatural miracle that is enough to take care of all of our needs. I pray that you bless my family with the money we need to survive.
